Wedding Day (finally)

My son Adam and his girlfriend Crissa were married last weekend (and it's about time). They have been dating for 3-1/2 years, and that's a long time for Utah. I think everyone thought that this would never happen, but it did, and we are all very happy for them. Now I need to be selfish, they need to make me a grandfather.
This is the very talented wedding photographer, Hayley Anderson (my best friends daughter) who asked me when she arrived, if I was her competition. I told her that I didn't shoot people, just the landscape.

Adam and Crissa I wish you both the very best, and love you very much.

Death Valley

I haven't figured out this blog thing yet, so you should read it from the bottom to the top.

The flowers are just starting to bloom.

Death Valley

This is a picture that Jerry would like, except the speed limit is only 35 mph.

Death Valley

This is Scotty's grave marker and it has an inscription that is quite eloquent " I got four things to live by: Don't say nothing that will hurt anybody, Don't give advice-nobody will take it anyway, Don't complain, Don't explain"

Death Valley

One of the old trucks that helped haul material to construct the castle. The clock tower is in the background.

Death Valley

This is a picture of the clock tower that is separate from the castle.

One of the most interesting places in Death Valley is Scotty's castle. Scotty was an investor from Chicago, that had invested in a gold mine, in 1906 he traveled in Death Valley in inspect his investment, and fell in love with the place and built a vacation home. The area in front of the castle is a large swimming pool. Scotty's castle is in the middle of nowhere.

Death Valley

I have always noticed the "Death Valley" sign when I was going or coming from California. What is in Death Valley? Last weekend I finally able to satisfy my curiosity. The area is filled with old mines and mining equipment.
